What this tool does

Pinterest Video/Pin Downloader saves a public Pinterest pin -- video or image -- to your device in its original form. Paste a pin link, pick a quality if it is a video, and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Pinterest login required.

How It Works

When you paste a link, the server first tries to resolve it as a video using yt-dlp, an open-source media resolver, requesting only the direct progressive stream Pinterest's own player falls back to for broad compatibility. If the pin has no video at all, the server instead reads the pin page's own embedded image reference and upgrades it from a resized preview to Pinterest's full-resolution original file. Either way, when you press Download, the server fetches that file and relays it straight back to your browser as a file attachment -- it is never saved on the server in between.

Problems it solves

Frequently asked questions

›Is this legal?

It depends on the pin and your local law. This tool only retrieves content already publicly visible on the pin's page -- the same video stream or image file Pinterest already sends your browser. It cannot access private boards or secret pins. Pinterest's own terms restrict bulk or commercial use of pinned content, so this is best used for personal, occasional saves, and you should respect the original creator's rights, especially for anything you plan to reuse or republish.

›Why does this only support one video quality instead of several?

Pinterest usually serves several internal quality tiers for a video, but most of them are only available over a fragmented streaming format this tool cannot safely pipe through on this server. It instead uses Pinterest's own direct, progressive fallback stream, which is typically the highest resolution available anyway.

›Why did I get an image instead of a video, or vice versa?

The tool first checks whether the pin has a video. If it does, you get a video with a quality picker. If it does not -- because the pin is a plain image -- the tool instead reads the pin's full-resolution image directly from Pinterest's image CDN.

›Why did fetching fail for my link?

The pin may be on a private or secret board, it may have been deleted, or Pinterest may be rate-limiting automated requests at that moment. Reopen the pin on Pinterest.com, confirm it still loads there, copy the link again, and try once more after a short wait.
