FreeInstantly see the public IP address, IPv4/IPv6 type, connection security, browser, and operating system that this server detects from your request, with a warning if a proxy or CDN appears to be forwarding it, all read directly from your request headers with no geolocation or ISP lookup.

What this tool does
This tool shows the public IP address this server sees for your connection, whether it is IPv4 or IPv6, whether the connection is secure, and your browser and operating system, and flags it if a proxy or CDN appears to be forwarding your request.
How It Works
When your browser requests this page, the server automatically learns the IP address the connection is coming from, since that is simply how TCP/IP networking works, and the same request also includes a User-Agent header that identifies your browser and operating system, and, if you are behind a proxy or CDN, an X-Forwarded-For header recording the original address that proxy received. This tool reads those three pieces of information directly from your request and displays them, without looking anything up on any external service.
Problems it solves
- Finding your current public IP address to enter into a firewall rule, VPN allowlist, or remote access configuration.
- Confirming whether your connection is going out over IPv4 or IPv6.
- Checking whether a server sees your connection as coming through a proxy, VPN exit node, or CDN by looking for an X-Forwarded-For header.
- Quickly copying your exact User-Agent string when reporting a browser bug or filling out a support ticket.
Frequently asked questions
›What is an IP address?
An IP address is a numeric label assigned to your device while it is connected to the internet, used to route data to and from it; IPv4 addresses look like four numbers separated by dots (such as 203.0.113.42), while the newer IPv6 format uses longer strings of hexadecimal digits separated by colons.
›Why does this tool show a different IP than another "what is my IP" site?
If you are on a VPN, corporate network, or mobile connection, different sites can sometimes see different addresses depending on routing and caching along the way, but normally all such tools should agree, since they are all simply reporting what the server on the other end of your connection currently sees; a brief mismatch usually resolves on a page refresh.
›What does the X-Forwarded-For warning mean?
It means a proxy, load balancer, or CDN sits between you and this server and has added a header recording the address it received the request from; the IP address shown above is what this server itself sees as the connecting address, which may be the proxy's address rather than your original one.
›Does this tool look up my location, internet provider, or any other details about my IP?
No, this tool only reports the IP address, connection security, and browser information that your request already sends to this server; it does not perform any geolocation or ISP lookup, so no additional data about you is retrieved from anywhere else.
›Why does it show my browser and operating system too?
Your browser identifies itself to every website it visits through the User-Agent header, which your browser sends automatically and which this page simply reads and displays alongside your IP address, since both are commonly useful together when debugging a connection issue or confirming how a server sees your request.
