What this tool does

Upload a logo or image and this tool generates a complete favicon package: a multi-resolution favicon.ico, individual PNGs at every size modern browsers and devices expect, an apple-touch-icon, Android Chrome icons, a pre-filled site.webmanifest, and the exact HTML tags to paste into your page's <head>, all bundled into one ZIP download.

How It Works

Your image is drawn onto an HTML canvas at each target size (16, 32, 48, 180, 192, and 512 pixels), either cropped to a centered square or padded with a background color, depending on your choice. The three smallest sizes are then packed into a single favicon.ico using the PNG-embedded ICO format, a lightweight binary container that every current browser and operating system reads correctly. Everything, down to the ZIP file itself, is assembled in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Problems it solves

Frequently asked questions

›Why do I need so many different sizes?

Different platforms request different sizes: browser tabs typically use 16x16 or 32x32, iOS home screen icons use 180x180, and Android Chrome and PWA install prompts use 192x192 and 512x512. Shipping all of them means your icon looks sharp everywhere instead of being stretched or blurry on some devices.

›What is favicon.ico, and why is it still needed alongside PNGs?

The .ico format can bundle multiple sizes (16x16, 32x32, 48x48) into one file, and it is still the one browsers fall back to by default if no other icon link is specified, including very old browsers and some OS-level shortcuts. This tool packs all three sizes into a single valid favicon.ico using the modern PNG-embedded format every current browser and OS supports.

›Should I crop or pad a non-square image?

Crop keeps every pixel full-bleed but trims the edges off a non-square image, good when your logo already fills the frame. Pad keeps the entire image visible by adding a background color around it, better when your logo has empty margins or isn't centered.

›What is site.webmanifest for?

It is a small JSON file Android and other platforms read to know your site's name, icons, and theme color when someone adds it to their home screen or installs it as a progressive web app. This tool generates one pre-filled with the icons it just created.

›Does this upload my logo anywhere?

No. Every resize, the ICO file, and the ZIP itself are all built locally in your browser using the Canvas API; your image is never sent to a server.
