What this tool does

Kwai Video Downloader saves a public video from Kwai to your device, so you can watch it offline. Paste a video link and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Kwai login required.

How It Works

When you paste a link, the server fetches the same public page your browser would load and reads the direct video file address that Kwai already embeds in it, no login or JavaScript execution needed. When you press Download, the server fetches that file and relays it straight back to your browser as a download -- it is never stored on the server.

Problems it solves

How to Download

  1. 1 Copy the video link -- open the video on Kwai and copy its link from the address bar or the Share button.
  2. 2 Paste and fetch -- paste the link and press Fetch Video to load its title and thumbnail.
  3. 3 Save the video -- press Download and follow your browser's prompt.

Key Features

Limitations & Availability

  • Private and deleted videos are not reachable, even if you can view them in your own signed-in session.
  • Only one quality is available -- Kwai's public video pages expose a single file, not a ladder of resolutions.
  • A generated download link expires -- fetch the video again if it stops working.

Troubleshooting

›Fetching fails even for a public video

Reopen the video on kwai.com to confirm it still plays, then try again after a short wait.

›Link points to a profile or hashtag page instead of a video

Make sure the link opens a single video directly -- a link to a profile, hashtag, or search page has nothing for this tool to fetch.

›Download fails for a long video

Try again after a short wait, or fetch the video again to refresh the link.

Frequently asked questions

›Is this legal?

It depends on the video and your local law. This tool only retrieves the same public video Kwai already sends to any browser that loads a public video page -- it does not unlock private or deleted content. Kwai's own terms technically restrict third-party downloading, though enforcement against personal, occasional use is weak and there is a large market of similar tools. You should still respect the original creator's rights, especially for anything you plan to reuse or republish.

›Why did fetching fail for my link?

The video may be private, deleted, or region-locked, or the link may point to a profile or hashtag page instead of a single video. Reopen the video on kwai.com, confirm it still plays there, copy the link again, and try once more.

›Why is there only one quality option?

Kwai's public video pages serve a single video file rather than a ladder of resolutions, so there is only one option to choose from, unlike some other platforms this site supports.

›Does the saved video have a watermark?

This tool saves the exact file Kwai's own page already plays, with whatever watermark Kwai itself embedded in it -- it does not add or remove anything.

›Does this work for Kuaishou links too?

No, this tool only accepts kwai.com links. Kuaishou, Kwai's sibling app for the Chinese market from the same company, uses a different domain and is not supported here.

Respecting Creators

Kwai creators build a following and earn through the app's own rewards and creator programs. Save videos for personal use or reference, credit the original creator if you repost anything, and avoid passing off someone else's video as your own.
