What this tool does
Weibo Video Downloader saves a public video post from Weibo to your device, so you can watch it offline. Paste a post link, pick a quality, and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Weibo login required.
How It Works
When you paste a link, the server resolves the post's available formats using yt-dlp, an open-source media resolver, and lists the qualities available without logging in. If the post contains a gallery of several videos, only the first one's formats are resolved. When you press Download, the server fetches that stream and relays it straight back to your browser as a download -- it is deleted from the server the moment it finishes sending.

How to Download
- 1 Copy the post link -- open the post on Weibo and copy its link from the address bar or the Share button.
- 2 Paste and fetch -- paste the link and press Fetch Video to load its title and available qualities.
- 3 Pick a quality -- choose an option from the list.
- 4 Save the video -- press Download and follow your browser's prompt.

Limitations & Availability

›Is this legal?
It depends on the post and your local law. This tool only retrieves the same public post Weibo already sends to any browser that loads a public post page -- it does not unlock content restricted to followers or a specific audience. Weibo's own terms technically restrict third-party downloading, though enforcement against personal, occasional use is weak and there is a large market of similar tools. You should still respect the original creator's rights, especially for anything you plan to reuse or republish.
›Why did fetching fail for my link?
The post may be private, restricted to followers, deleted, or the link may point to a profile page instead of a single post. Reopen the post on weibo.com or m.weibo.cn, confirm it still plays there, copy the link again, and try once more.
›Why do some posts only offer one quality?
Weibo doesn't always generate a full set of resolutions for every upload -- some videos, particularly older or lower-traffic ones, are only stored at a single quality to begin with.
›What happens with a post that has several videos?
Some Weibo posts group several videos into one gallery. This tool fetches the first video in that gallery; it does not currently let you choose a specific one from the middle of the set.
