What this tool does

Loom Video Downloader saves a shared Loom recording to your device, so you can watch it offline. Paste a share link, pick a quality, and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Loom login required.

How It Works

When you paste a link, the server resolves the recording's available formats using yt-dlp, an open-source media resolver, and lists the qualities available without logging in. Loom serves its video and audio as two separate streams, so when you press Download, the server fetches both and combines them into a single playable file using ffmpeg before relaying it straight back to your browser as a download -- it is deleted from the server the moment it finishes sending.

Problems it solves

How to Download

  1. 1 Copy the video link -- open the recording on Loom and copy its share link.
  2. 2 Paste and fetch -- paste the link and press Fetch Video to load its title and available qualities.
  3. 3 Pick a quality -- choose an option from the list.
  4. 4 Save the video -- press Download and follow your browser's prompt.

Key Features

Limitations & Availability

  • Recordings that are not shared with "Anyone with the link" are not reachable, even if you can view them in your own signed-in session.
  • A generated download link expires -- fetch the video again if it stops working.

Troubleshooting

›Fetching fails even for a shared recording

Reopen the recording on loom.com to confirm its sharing setting is "Anyone with the link", then try again.

›Only one quality option appears

This is normal -- some recordings are only stored at one quality to begin with.

›Download fails

Try again after a short wait, or fetch the video again to refresh the link.

Frequently asked questions

›Is this legal?

It depends on the recording and your local law. This tool only retrieves the same recording Loom already sends to anyone with the share link -- it does not unlock private recordings. Loom's own terms technically restrict third-party downloading, though enforcement against personal, occasional use is weak. Many Loom recordings are made for work purposes and may contain sensitive or confidential information, so only download and share recordings you have a legitimate reason to keep.

›Why did fetching fail for my link?

The recording may be private, deleted, or restricted to specific people rather than "Anyone with the link". Reopen it on loom.com, confirm its sharing setting, copy the link again, and try once more.

›Why do some recordings only offer one quality?

Loom doesn't always generate a full set of resolutions for every recording -- some, particularly shorter or older ones, are only stored at a single quality to begin with.

›Does this work on Loom folders?

No -- this tool works on a single recording's share link, not a folder link containing several videos. Open the specific recording you want inside the folder and copy its own link instead.

Respecting Creators

Loom is widely used for work walkthroughs, bug reports, and async updates, often made for a specific team or audience rather than broad distribution. Save recordings for personal use or reference, and avoid redistributing someone else's recording beyond the audience it was intended for.
