What this tool does
Telegram Video Downloader saves a video from a public Telegram channel post to your device, so you can watch it offline. Paste a post link and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Telegram login required.
How It Works
When you paste a link, the server resolves the post's video using yt-dlp, an open-source media resolver, without logging in. When you press Download, the server fetches that file and relays it straight back to your browser as a download -- it is deleted from the server the moment it finishes sending.

- Keeping a personal copy of a video before it gets deleted or taken down.

How to Download
- 1 Copy the post link -- open the post in Telegram and copy its link.
- 2 Paste and fetch -- paste the link and press Fetch Video to load its title.
- 3 Save the video -- press Download and follow your browser's prompt.

This is normal for some posts -- the tool saves the video exactly as posted, and some videos (like screen-recorded demos) never had sound to begin with.

Try again after a short wait, or fetch the video again to refresh the link.

›Is this legal?
It depends on the post and your local law. This tool only retrieves the same public post Telegram already sends to any browser that loads a public channel post -- it does not unlock private groups or chats. Telegram's own terms technically restrict third-party downloading, though enforcement against personal, occasional use is weak and there is a large market of similar tools. You should still respect the original channel's rights, especially for anything you plan to reuse or republish.
›Why did fetching fail for my link?
The post may be from a private group or chat rather than a public channel, or it may have been deleted. Reopen it in Telegram, confirm the channel is public, copy the link again, and try once more.
›Why does the video have no quality options?
Telegram serves channel videos as a single file rather than multiple resolutions, so there is only ever one quality to download -- this is normal, not a limitation of this tool.
›Does this work on private groups or direct messages?
No -- this tool only works on posts from public channels that anyone can view without logging in. Private groups and direct messages are not reachable.
