What this tool does

Tasty Recipe Video Downloader saves the cooking video from a public Tasty recipe page to your device, so you can watch it offline. Paste a recipe link and download -- no account, no browser extension, and no Tasty login required.

How It Works

When you paste a link, the server resolves the video using yt-dlp, an open-source media resolver, without logging in. When you press Download, the server fetches that file and relays it straight back to your browser as a download -- it is deleted from the server the moment it finishes sending.

Problems it solves

How to Download

  1. 1 Copy the recipe link -- open the recipe on Tasty and copy its link from the address bar.
  2. 2 Paste and fetch -- paste the link and press Fetch Video to load its title.
  3. 3 Save the video -- press Download and follow your browser's prompt.

On Your Device

Android

Open the recipe on Tasty in Chrome on your phone, copy the link, then paste it here.

iPhone & iPad

Open the recipe on Tasty in Safari, copy the link, then paste it here.

Windows & Mac

Copy the recipe's URL from your browser's address bar on tasty.co.

Key Features

Limitations & Availability

  • Tasty serves each recipe video as a single file rather than multiple resolutions, so there is only ever one quality to download.
  • A generated download link expires -- fetch the video again if it stops working.

Troubleshooting

›Fetching fails even for a public recipe

Reopen the recipe on tasty.co to confirm it still plays, then try again after a short wait.

›Download fails

Try again after a short wait, or fetch the video again to refresh the link.

Frequently asked questions

›Is this legal?

It depends on how you use the file and your local law. This tool only retrieves the same public video Tasty already sends to any browser that loads a public recipe page -- it does not unlock private or restricted content. You should still respect Tasty's rights, especially for anything you plan to reuse or republish.

›Why did fetching fail for my link?

The link may point to a category or search page instead of a single recipe, or the recipe may have been removed or reorganized. Reopen the recipe on tasty.co, confirm it still plays there, copy the link again, and try once more.

›Why is there only one quality option?

Tasty serves each recipe video as a single file rather than multiple resolutions, so there is only ever one quality to download -- this is normal, not a limitation of this tool.

Respecting Creators

Tasty is BuzzFeed's own recipe video brand, and these videos are Tasty's own productions. Save them for personal use or reference, credit Tasty if you repost anything, and avoid passing off their recipes or footage as your own.
